Volunteers are an integral part of the amazing events at Open School. Last year, day passes were given to parents who volunteered for 1-day events such as helping during a conference week activity, presenting at Open School Day and assisting with the Jog-a-Thon, however new policies are in place.
--> IMPORTANT: This year, ALL POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS who want to help on campus must be approved 2-3 weeks in advance as a Tier II volunteer with LAUSD. This process is the same for a 1-day volunteer or an ongoing volunteer and must be re-submitted each new school year. Please see the attached information sheet below for detailed directions on how to complete this process.
We will need MANY volunteers to help with Fall Conferences in October, so we'll need to process applications in September. Let's help you get that paperwork in for the school year!
Note: TB tests are required and can be administered through your primary care or urgent care as well as at pharmacies such as Rite Aid and CVS.
The approval process may take 2-3 weeks after completed documents have been submitted. You never know when a volunteer opportunity might fit perfectly into your schedule, so we highly encourage you to begin the application process now, and when the opportunity arises, you’ll be ready! Open School loves volunteers!
