Resource and Curriculum Support

While we strongly believe that our project-based, thematic, integrated learning environment is conducive to meeting the needs of most students, we also understand that the specific nature of certain needs must be addressed individually. In order to support all of our students in achieving at their highest potential, we design enrichment opportunities as necessary. To this end, Open School has a Curriculum Specialist and Resource Specialist. Both programs adhere to Open School’s child-centered constructivist philosophy of education by supporting students in multiple ways. These programs are developed with input from families and in collaboration with the classroom teachers. Students who work with the Resource and Curriculum Support Team often do so individually and in small group settings to target learning objectives. This allows for increased levels of focus so that every child can benefit from the academic programs provided at Open School.
